Club activities

Working Night
Members draw and paint in a variety of media: oils, watercolour, pastels, acrylic etc. Subjects (such as still life, portrait, figure for example) may be set or left to individuals. On some summer evenings we work outdoors. You can see work produced on previous working nights on the following pages:

Helpful Comments
Work, finished or in progress, is reviewed by an experienced club member, comments are invited and a lively discussion often ensues. The aim is to produce better pictures by pointing out, in a helpful way, areas for improvement (and we all have those!), such as composition, tonal balance and technique.

Demonstrations

David Coupe demonstrates his approach to watercolour at a demonstration evening

Professional artists demonstrate in a variety of media, ususally completing a picture in the evening - nice just to sit and watch someone else working!
We have demonstrations scheduled for March 18 and October 28 - more details later. Non-members are welcome to attend for a admission charge of £3. Members will be asked to contribute £2.
